The Robot Doctor Feldenstein
was a scientist. He specialized in building robots for space travel.
Many people would protest his robots, because they said that robots
were too dangerous. Doctor Feldenstein was very upset by this,
and decided that he would prove them wrong. He would build a robot
that not only had artificial intelligence, but that could also
feel human emotions. First he thought about building a hate-bot,
but decided against it. Then he considered a greed-bot, but changed
his mind. Finally, he decided to build a robot that could love.
He labored all day and all night to build his new robot. He knew
it would change the way people looked at robots forever. Finally,
he was finished. All it needed was a name. He decided to call
it "Roy." Full of excitement, Doctor Feldman switched
Roy on for the first time. Light came into the robot's eyes, as
it looked around. It's gaze settled upon Doctor Feldenstein, and
Doctor Feldenstein greeted it. "Hello Roy. I am Doctor Feldenstein,
your creator." A look of joy came across Roy's face. "May
I have a hug?" it asked. "Why certainly," replied
the good doctor. |
